FIAMS is a festival built by and for the community, with a strong commitment to eco-responsibility! That’s why we have decided to document our actions as we aim for new heights. FIAMS integrates sustainable development into every stage of its planning—not only during the festival but also throughout the regular season of La Rubrique.

STS Public Transit: $4 per trip, only $1 on summer evenings and weekends
Electric bikes: stations available in downtown Saguenay
All our sites are equipped with sorting stations (compost, recycling, deposit returns, waste). To help you, our Green String Squad is on hand to guide you and answer all your eco-friendly questions. Thanks to our partnership with other festivals, we have set up TerraCycle collection points for cigarette butts. Together, let’s give this waste a second life.
At FIAMS, we’re pulling the strings of sustainable development! The first responders in eco-responsibility and frontline allies:
Raising awareness about sorting and eco-friendly actions
Supporting a safe and healthy environment (safe space, emotional well-being guardian)
Your go-to team for any eco-responsibility questions… or just to chat!
This year, FIAMS is:
Calculating its greenhouse gas emissions
Implementing measures to reduce them
Offsetting part of its impact through Carbone Boréal, a regional research chair at UQAC
You can also get involved: add a carbon credit to your ticket or contribute directly to Carbone Boréal. Together, let’s plant trees and invest in research for tomorrow.

FIAMS and La Rubrique believe that art builds bridges between generations:
Partnerships with schools and day camps in Saguenay
Cultural mediation workshops
Collaboration with the Arts and Performing Crafts program at the Bâtisseurs School in Jonquière
Partnership with long-term care facilities (CHSLD) and seniors’ residences (RPA) to create puppets
The festival’s food surplus is redistributed to local organizations in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region. Nothing goes to waste—everything is shared!
